ABOUT THE CLIENT
The client was a major commercial vehicle brand in India in M&HCV and LCV segment.
APPROACH
In-depth interview
PROBLEM STATEMENT
The client wanted to launch an e-commerce app for the commercial vehicle user segment.
They aimed to understand user behavior of transporters and bus operators when purchasing vehicle peripherals.
There was a need to explore the consumption patterns for items like tyres, batteries, lubricants, etc.
They wanted to evaluate the feasibility and acceptance of such an app among the target audience.
OUR SOLUTIONS
In depth interview was done with the transporters and bus operators across India. A report was submitted by ResearchFox which includes detailed analysis.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Consumption pattern: Understood the consumption pattern by each product which involves frequency of consumption, transportation, credit cycle and mode of payment
Pain points: Listed out top challenges that a transporter faces while ordering. Quick turnaround with same quality was the biggest issue
Insurance not assurance: When it comes to the idea of buying peripherals from e-comm. App, trust is the biggest issue for the transporters. They were more open to the idea if there is unconditional return policy.
Product mix: Tyres are the most preferred item they’d like to buy from the e-comm. Platform as they feel there is no scope of duplicity while lubricants was the least preferred item
OUTCOME
Identified key consumption behaviors and challenges such as the demand for quick turnaround with quality, and trust issues in e-commerce platforms.
Found preferences for specific product categories and concerns around return policies, helping the client shape their app's product mix and trust features.
